A downloadable game

NOTE! It take a bit to start due to the wave function collapse trying to generate a map (there's no loading screen!!). For more limitation read the bottom.

Game description

RoastRider, a small game playing as a pig trapped in a dungeon with enemies hunting you. There are spikes on the floor that damage you and coins you can pickup to boost your speed temporary. Randomly generated map each time you restart the game.

Development

A small gamejam over 44 hours in Godot 4 (Beta 4). It was the first time this group made a game together and for some of us it was the first time with a gamejam ever! We went into the weekend with little to no idea with no previous experience with Godot! We made a game to learn and to have fun! And fun we had!!

Everything except the music was made at the gamejam, both the art and the code.

We had some more ambiguous plans for a roguelike and possibly highscore, which is why there's a meny etc! Perhaps next time!

Limitations :)

  • No way of rebooting other than dying.
  • Map generation doesn't care about player position.
  • There's no win condition.
  • The music is uncompressed which is why the filesize of the executable is huge.
